Remember !!!error: Indecipherable SUB-paragraph formatting!!! from a few weeks ago? They were only able to make 805hp from their triple-charged Hellcat. Yet, my brother, a shop owner down in Houston is currently at 840rwhp with a Hellcat with still more refinements to go. And it’s boost only. Here’s a video:

Sorry, I just had to brag on my brother a bit, he’s pretty awesome.
But obviously Jalopnik is only concerned about what Hennessey and other big-brand shops are up to.

To be fair, I’m sure with some tuning, that 805hp car could become a 1000hp car. I’m pretty sure that was just for longevity and being able to say you have a triple-charged Hellcat.

But that 805hp one still came with a limited warranty.

This car isn’t a good example since it’s a raffle, but as far as limited warranties go, even if you have a shop like Hennessey do your build you’re still paying more. Say your engine blows and they cover it (which that is nearly impossible when you look into it), you didn’t save anything considering more reputable shops can do the build for more than half the price.

Hennessey is priced out the ass. HHP, LMR, and KP Racing and other shops in the area likely do a much better job for less. Was kind of infatuated with Hennessey in the beginning, right up until I learned how much they charge...

Also compound boost is inefficient but sure sounds cool. Any idea on what the stock rods can take on a hellcat? I’m sure somebody found out or will soon.

I know of some guys who have found/went past the limits but idk know the specific failures were.
I was in the “this motor is already tapped out from the factory” camp, but after watching the progress of this car with just bolt-ons I’m beginning to see its a very capable motor.
